The River Runner Regatta sponsored by Franklin Street Brewing Company in Manchester is entertaining for both participant and spectator alike! This annual event is held at the Manchester Whitewater Park on the Maquoketa River. Homebuilt cardboard boats, constructed by local teams, compete against each other in a variety of categories. One of my favorite categories is "The Best Wipeout" - proving you can be a winner while at the same time being a massive loser! Numerous volunteers include a safety kayak team, volunteers from the Manchester Fire Department, Chamber and RMC all help to make this event a success. This is super fun and exciting!
