Kayaking on the Maquoketa River is always interesting, but even more so when your river guide is the local city manager! A group of students from the University of Iowa's School of Planning and Public Affairs partnered with the City of Manchester for their graduate capstone project. What better way to start of the project than by enjoying some of the recreational opportunities? Of the five of us on the water, four continents were represented! We enjoyed the calms stretches, the mini-rapids, and even the parts where we had to drag our kayaks through the shallow water.
